I was asked to do an activity with the francophone elders of Saskatoon, Sk this week and I chose to do a “Group Sharing Meeting” with them on a social issue. Seeing it was the first time meeting them I didn’t want to scare them away sharing a subject that was too personal however I decided that it was important to have a meet on how they are living the confinement (Covid) today as compared to 4 months ago. I prepared my questions ahead of time in order to add reflective questions in there as well. It was a good turnout and I was pleasantly surprised to see the elders point of view on the subject. The best was our take-out – that they had a voice and were heard. They also enjoyed hearing what others were doing when they felt alone and so they retained strategies and different ideas for themselves.
